Seating

Choose comfortable seating, such as a comfortable arm chair with a high back.  An oversized occasional chair is ideal for comfort and snuggling in with a good book.

Side Table

A side table is a must for creating your reading nook.  Not only does it add style to your reading nook with a small vignette but a place to rest your favourite book.

Decorate your side table with a vase of freshly picked flowers from the garden and a scented candle.

Lighting

Natural light is ideal for your reading nook, alternatively choose a tall table lamp or a floor lamp for overhead lighting.  For more directional lighting for reading use a lamp that you can adjust into place.

Decor

Add a comfortable cushion with a feather insert and a throw rug to your reading nook for those cooler days.  This is where you can add texture, colour and pattern with a beautiful Autumn throw.

Rug

Placing a rug under your chair will define your reading nook in your living space.  Choose natural tones or add a warm and textured rug for warmth.
