At Home In The Garden is a beautifully illustrated book by Carolyne Roehme.  This book is a tribute to Carolyne Roehm’s beautiful estate, Weatherstone, in Connecticut.  The photography in this book is also by Carolyne Roehm and below are some images from “At Home In The Garden”.

At Home In the garden

Carolyne Roehm is an American author, businesswoman, gardener, photographer and former fashion designer who celebrates classic design, formal gardens, and glamorous dinner parties.

“It’s as simple as this –  a garden is like love…a place you venture into with hope, energy, excitement, enchantment, and the greatest of expectations”.

Weatherstone is set on 59 acres, 45 of which were cornfields when Carolyne first bought this property back in 1982.

This book is all about how Carolyne celebrates her gardens as outdoor living rooms.  Carolyne takes you through a journey of how she chooses the plants and layout for each garden, and tells a story of what has worked and what hasn’t worked so well in each of her gardens.

This book offers so much information for any type of garden and season.  Whether you have a formal or informal garden, a veggie garden, rose garden or spring bulb garden.  Carolyne shares her stories on creating and evolving her garden at her Connecticut home.  You can see much more of Carolyne Roehm’s beautiful garden below.

I was given this book as a birthday present from my mum.  At Home In The Garden is not only full of beautiful images but makes for a lovely read too.  Carolyne talks about Landscaping and planning her gardens and work that needs to be done in and around the garden.

Carolyne’s book is full of inspiration and many beautiful bouquets made up of flowers from her garden.  There are also many of her beautiful trademark tablesccapes and dinner party settings to inspire you.

I have really enjoyed reading and admiring the beautiful images in this garden.  There is so much inspiration and many ideas you can take away for your own garden no matter what size it is.  Have you got a favourite garden book you love?
