If you love checks, florals and hues of blue and green you will love this Montecito vacation home that has been decorated by Mark D. Sikes Interior Design. I love how Mark mixes his check and floral fabrics and all the beautiful shades of blues to create a timeless and elegant interior. This Montecito vacation home has been beautifully designed with some of the Client’s existing furnishings. Come and take a look at this stunning home.
This beautiful home was featured in the July/August issue of House Beautiful. The boxed hedges lead you down the pathway to this beautiful vacation home, which was originally painted in a grey colour. Mark has refreshed the exterior of this vacation home in a neutral white.
Lee Jofa’s Althea print cotton chintz was used on a club chair and pillow in the living room.
“I’m not the type of designer who comes in and rips everything apart,” he says. “If there’s a piece you love, you can find a new home for it or update it with upholstery or paint.”

I love looking at all the details of this living room, from the white coral chandelier to the planter box and the blue plates hung on the wall. Its all the pretty details that make this room beautiful.
Inspired by the “perfect combination” of grass and sky outside, Mark D. Sikes has used his signature blue and white as a backdrop for the vibrant greens in this room.
You can refresh the interior of your own living space by adding some beautiful decor pieces such as:
- A custom made lamp shade.
- Having cutom made cushions using beautiful fabrics.
- A throw rug.
- New lamp base.
- Create a coffee or hall table vignette.
- Fresh flowers.
Blue and white check would have to be one of my favourite fabrics at the moment, I love incorporating this pattern into my home. The check looks gorgeous in this room with the floral bedhead. This bedroom above has been transformed by layers of beautiful fabrics and bed linen.
