Spring is the perfect season to think about adding some new plants and trees to your garden.  My garden is in full bloom at the moment.  The white blossom Ornamental Pear trees that line my driveway have just finished flowering and many other plants have just started.  Come and take a look around my Country Style Spring garden.

White Iceberg roses are a favourite at my house, they are so easy to grow and look after.   I have many standard Iceberg Roses and bush Iceberg roses too.  They really are the perfect Spring and Summer plant.

The Ornamental Apple Blossom trees have just bloomed.  They really make a beautiful display in the garden.  They are planted amongst the David Austin bush roses with a new Boxwood hedge positioned behind them.  The hedges seem to help protect the roses from the hot Summer winds.

I always plant a punnet of Foxgloves in the garden in Autumn, they are ready to flower in Spring and put on a gorgeous display in my round garden.

Roses love to be positioned in a sunny spot and fed regularly during their growth months.  Your roses won’t need pruning until mid to late winter.  This David Austin rose above is “The Alnwick” rose.  The roses I’ve planted in my garden are:

  • The Alnwick
  • William Norris
  • Charlotte
  • Heritage
  • Jude The Obscure

This pink Alnwick rose above is always the first to flower, which means I now have some beautiful blooms to pick for the home.  Whether it is a big bouquet for a large vase or a simple bud vase to place on my bedside table.

Spring is also a busy time in the garden.  It does take a lot of hours weeding and trimming my hedges.  I am just about to place some new mulch on the garden beds.  This really helps to preserve my garden for the upcoming Summer months.  What do you have growing in your garden?
