There’s something about decorating for Christmas that instantly lifts your mood. As soon as the lights go up and the garlands and wreaths come out, the whole house feels happy, brighter, and full of joy. This year, I’ve used traditional holiday colours in my home. Here are some of my absolute favourite décor items that bring that holiday magic to life.
Christmas Tree
My tree is always the heart of my holiday décor. Whether you love a real tree with that fresh pine scent or a beautifully flocked artificial one, the tree sets the entire mood for the season. I like to choose a theme every year, this year it’s classic red and a little bit of gold. Mixing ornaments of different sizes adds depth, and a ribbon wrapped loosely around the branches or lots of ribbons tied in a bow gives it a polished look.

Wreaths
It’s true, I have a sizeable collection of wreaths, ranging from mostly Boxwood wreaths, berries and foliage to magnolia wreaths. I love decorating with them for the holiday season, and they are the first holiday decorative piece I pull out.
Always adding a ribbon to match the colour we’ve chosen for the season. Starting with the front door, I have a boxwood wreath with a ribbon. There are more placed over most of the mirrors in my home, from the entry hall to the mantel in my living room and the cabinetry doors in my kitchen.

Holiday Decor
I have put together a story board of some of my favourite holiday decor pieces from Provincial Home Living. I have loved using traditional red this year in my home, its looked so beautiful and festive with all of the blue and white decor pieces.
My very favourite piece this year would have to be the boxwood topiary pots with red ribbons. They will be perfect for the Christmas table centrepiece.
