Mark’s talent for mixing American and European, traditional and modern sets him apart in the interior design world.  Mark believes design should be beautiful.

I always start any project with a paint palette and key fabrics. I think for a home to flow every room should feel connected to the next, have one point of view.

I love Marks talent for mixing textures and patterns.  He cleverly uses fabric in curtains, cushions and skirted tables, especially consoles or even a dining table.

Blue and white striped patterns are often used throughout his interiors for furnishings, rugs and many decor accessories.  The size of the stripes vary in the pattern from a wide strip to a ticking stripe.

Something green is always added to the interiors as a final layer in these beautifully decorated rooms.

Beautiful – Mark D. Sikes | Book Depository

“Beautiful” would have to be one of my favourite Inspiration and Design books.  Blue and white is a timeless colour combination that never tires or dates.  Do you have a favourite Interior Designer or book? we would love to know what it is.
