With us all spending more time in our homes, lets make them as happy and comfortable as we can. Today I have some tips and inspiration on creating comfort and warmth in your home.

Cushions

As many of you know I have always surrounded myself with beautiful fabrics and cushions.

Keep your living space fresh with some new cushions or changing over your covers each season.

Sometimes I have some favourite cushions that are in my livivng room all year round. My Indigo Bouquet cushion above is from a new collection at Beautiful House along with this gorgeous Phoenix sofa from Sofa and Soul in Melbourne.

Books

There is nothing more soothing than a beautiful collection of books displayed on your coffee table, or console table in your living room.

I have a large collection of my favourite magazines I’ve collected over the years, I had so many I’ve had to have a bit of a clean out and to just keep some of my favourites.

Lighting & Candles

Lamps are a must for creating a cosy and warm room. A pair of lamps will add symmetry to your living space, displayed on a console table or placed on a side table either side of your sofa.

I love to turn my lamps on late in the afternoon as it starts to get dark, it adds so much warmth to my living room.

Light some of your favourite candles for some extra cosy atmosphere. I have used my beautiful scented Peppermint Grove candle on my fireplace mantle.

Pattern & Texture

Layering your room with pattern and texture is always one of the number one tips given by Decorators. Adding the warmth with selecting cushions, a beautiful and warm throw blanket and a floor rug.

Flowers & Greenery

I really can’t live without foliage or beautiful flowers somewhere in my home. Whether you pick up a bunch from your local produce store or have a pretty bouquet made up from your local florist.

These are the best options for winter when there isn’t much flowering in the garden.

Flowers are the finishing touch in your home to creating a happy Winter home.
