A visit to Joanna Wood’s Store – Belgravia. London

One of my favourite memories from wandering the beautiful streets of Belgravia in London was discovering the elegant world of interior designer Joanna Wood. Tucked amongst the charming terraces and boutiques, her showroom felt wonderfully welcoming, filled with beautiful homewares, soft furnishings, beautiful fabrics, carefully chosen decor pieces and the kind of effortless English style that never dates.

Joanna Wood opened on the fashionable Pimlico Road in 1985 where they traded for many years before moving to nearby Elizabeth Street in 2017. The shop sells an extensive range of contemporary and traditional interior design accessories and gifts.

Joanna sources many of the products from small independent suppliers in England to far flung countries around the world. The store was full of layers of collected pieces for interiors. It was inspiring to see how comfort and elegance could exist so naturally together.

As I wandered through each room, I found myself slowing down, taking in the textures, colours and thoughtful details. It reminded me that beautiful homes aren’t about following trends, they’re about creating spaces with character, warmth and a sense of history.

There was a beautiful floral display in Belgravia for the Chelsea Flower Show, which is part of the annual Belgravia in Bloom festival, which I was lucky enough to see.

If you’re ever exploring London’s beautiful Belgravia neighbourhood, it’s well worth adding Joanna Wood to your list. Even if you’re simply looking for inspiration, you’ll leave with plenty of ideas to bring a little English charm home.
